We’ve identified discrepancies in the list of Azure (en-AU) voices available in Smart Assist. Several voices are missing, and one is mislabelled.
Current en-AU voices listed in Smart Assist:
  • Natasha
  • Ava (mislabelled as en-AU, but this is actually an en-US voice)
  • William
  • Freya
Correct and Complete List of en-AU Voices with Codes:
  • Annette (en-AU-AnnetteNeural) Female
  • Carly (en-AU-CarlyNeural) Female
  • Darren (en-AU-DarrenNeural) Male
  • Duncan (en-AU-DuncanNeural) Male
  • Elsie (en-AU-ElsieNeural) Female
  • Freya (en-AU-FreyaNeural) Female
  • Joanne (en-AU-JoanneNeural) Female
  • Ken (en-AU-KenNeural) Male
  • Kim (en-AU-KimNeural) Female
  • Natasha (en-AU-NatashaNeural) Female

Issues to Address:
  1. Update the voice list to include all the voices mentioned above.
  2. Correct the labelling of Ava, as testing reveals that it is an en-US voice, not en-AU. I think what is happening here is that there is an issue with the multilingual voices not being able to select "en-AU" or "en-GB" as a persistent language, but I will create a separate ticket for that.
